The Agriculture Department reported farmers earned 14.3 billion dollars for the first seven months of 1955, down four percent from the same period in 1954. Crop receipts reached about 5.3 billion, slightly higher than last year, while livestock and livestock products brought in about 9.0 billion, six percent below the 1954 period.
In August, auto production remains high while new car sales fall. Field stocks on August 1 exceed 800000 units for the third straight month, potentially supplying dealers for almost two months without new factory shipments.

Oscar G Bow a longtime Bells area resident and veterinarian died at his Whitewright home early Saturday after months of illness. Funeral services were held Sunday at 3:30 p m at Bethel Baptist Church with Rev W J Epting Rev E M Atherton Rev Howard McSpedde n officiating. Burial followed in Pilot Grove Cemetery. Surviving are his wife Mollie Clay Russell Bow two sons Edgar and Henry A Bow of Whitewright a daughter Dale Clower of Whitewright two brothers Steve Bow of Caldwell Idaho R A Bow of Alpine two grandchildren O G Bow Jr and Fay Tanja Cate plus several nieces and nephews. Bow was born December 24 1877 in Cumberland Co Kentucky and moved to Bells at age 12. He married Mollie in 1904 and was a retired farmer stockman and veteranarian. He served as deacon and Sunday School superintendent at Bethel Baptist Church. He and Mrs Bow celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in July 1954.
Funeral services were held at 2 30 p m Sunday at Pilot Grove Methodist Church for James Doyle Lane 78 burial in Elm Grove Cemetery directed by Earnheart Lane died Saturday at his Pilot Grove home after a four month illness Born February 2 1877 in Arkansas he was the son of James M and Melissa Lane He married Myrtle Barrett in 1898 who died 1928 They had six children He later married Callie Taylor and lived in Pilot Grove He served as Sunday School superintendent and was a member of the Methodist Church and Masonic Lodge Surviving are his wife six children 12 grandchildren 14 great grandchildren four nieces and two nephews.
Funeral services set for 2 p m at Westminster Baptist Church for Mrs. W S Giles 83 of Westminster formerly of Westminster who died Tuesday night in Whitewright. Rev T H McSpedden Rev Charles Taylor and Rev Newton Cole will officiate. Burial in Restland Memorial Park. Survivors include three sons a daughter a brother a sister nineteen grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.
Funeral held at 3 30 p m in Trenton Methodist Church for Mrs Van Roberts 73 who died Tuesday in a Bonham hospital born near Trenton She taught school in the Trenton area and was a member of the Methodist Church Burial in Burns Cemetery Survivors include her husband and daughter Mrs Mary Cornelia Smith of New York City Three grandchildren

Receipts prove sending, with no post office records of recipient or sender. If unpaid after thirty days, inquiries and duplicates are available.
