Rangers may probe death of candidate in Childress

Death of Clarence Thomas Near Dallas
Clarence Thomas three year old son of Mr and Mrs Lee Lyons died at their home near Dallas last Sunday. The body was brought to Whitewright and buried at Oak Hill Cemetery Tuesday morning. Rev W A Stuckey pastor of the Methodist church conducted the funeral. The Lyons family formerly resided here and the death caused general regret in the community.

First bale of 1924 cotton received near town
The first bale of the 1924 cotton crop was brought in last Thursday by W. T. Reeves from the east of town. The Farmers Union Gin Co. ginned and bought the bale at 30 cents per pound, plus a $20 premium from the Chamber of Commerce.
