Private Scott Completes Eight Weeks of Basic Combat Training
Private Thomas Leon Scott, 23, son of Mr and Mrs Haskell Leon Scott of Whitewright Route 1, finished eight weeks of basic combat training at Fort Bliss Texas. He joined B Company 2d Battalion 2d Basic Combat Training Brigade and qualified as an expert with the Me 14 rifle by hitting 60 of 84 targets. Scott is a 1963 Whitewright High School and 1968 East Texas State University graduate. His wife Diana Lynn lives at Box 703 Whitewright. He entered the Army in May and completed basic training in August.
