Army PFC Phillips Joins Vietnam Unit Near Phuoc Vinh
Army PFC James R. Phillips 18, son of Mrs Betty L. Taylor, 9118 Marvel Dr Irving, was assigned to the 1st Infantry Division in Vietnam. He serves as a rifleman in Company B, 1st Battalion, 28th Infantry, near Phuoc Vinh. Phillips entered active duty last January and was last stationed at Fort Ord California. His father Neely R. Phillips lives in Whitewright.

Highway 121 Work Completed Near Randolph to Bonham
The Texas Highway Department announced the 7.3 mile Trenton to Randolph section of Highway 121 is finished. Construction by R W McKinney Construction Co. reduced sharp curves near Randolph and Burns Cemetery, added two 13 foot lanes and 9 foot shoulders, and connected with the 1962 Trenton segment.

Red Warning Signs On Texas Freeways Warn Wrong Way
The Texas Highway Department installs red reflectors on major freeways to signal wrong way travel. Red indicates danger while white shows correct direction. Mirrors and arrows on ramps reinforce the warning to reduce wrong way accidents.
