Screw Worms Taken From Child's Ear

Mr J O Dorsey of Weston reports six or seven screw worms were removed from his three year old daughter's ear last Thursday. A chigger bite had caused a sore that seemed to heal. The child complained of an ear bug, cried at intervals, and slept with a towel under her head. He washed the ear and worms were removed. A doctor in Celina treated the ear and it soon improved, though damage to the ear drum may have occurred. This is the first such case in years in the area.
