Funeral Today For William P. Vaughn
Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church for William P. Vaughn who died at his home Tuesday night. Rev. W. W. Adcock led the service with pallbearers Roby Childress Luther Gordon T E Babee Grover Stateville R A Gillett Pascal Farley. Burial at Oak Hill Cemetery directed by Glen Earnheart. Vaughn born in 1870 in Tennessee came to Texas as a young man and lived in the Ida community before moving to Whitewright in 1908. He worked in hardware and implement business then in ginning and cotton and grain ventures and served on the church board of stewards for over twenty years. Surviving are the widow a daughter Mrs Emory Christian of Whitewright three stepdaughters Mrs E R Johnson of Fort Worth Mrs J McKinney of Abilene and Mrs Claude Phillips of Whitewright a stepson R H King of Snyder a sister Mrs Amanda Christian of Tennessee two grandchildren and five step grandchildren.
