Weld Fillets and Softball in Third Year Class
Over six weeks the third year boys learn fillet welding under Mr Morgan. They weld two flat iron pieces and start the weld while held together, with most achieving a fair weld. After school, around 3 pm, they play softball on the P. E. ground unless in study hall or baseball, with Mr Guire refereeing.

F H A State meeting guests stay at Western Hills Fort Worth
Thursday afternoon Mrs Blanton Laura Jean Williams and Sue Alexander traveled to Fort Worth for the F H A State meeting. They stayed in the Western Hills Hotel penthouse and attended a movie and lunch for about 3000 girls after the first meeting at Will Rogers Memorial Auditorium. Dr J Chess Levern of Lubbock preached on Faith For the Future delivering ten challenges.
Weekend Activities Include North Texas Quartet Note
Friday afternoon the second general session featured a North Texas State College quartet from Denton. They performed in several states and plan a Europe tour. Friday night was a western style fun night. Saturday morning a meeting titled Texas Under Five Flags was held. They returned to Whitewright Saturday afternoon tired but content.

A large Bethel Baptist Church youth gathering Monday night named Dean Wortham president as members sang hymns. Luck Stephens read minutes while about 200 attendees counted toward zone 3 with Bethel earning the top banner at 85 points. Tom Bean finished second with 76. Wanda Sue provided special music.

Church Youth Series Presents Varied Weekly Entertainment
Last Monday Tuesday Thursday and Saturday the junior and senior youths met at First Baptist Church basement. Rev C A Roberts staged a range of acts including a boy’s first job at a service station and a woman driver joke. He also demonstrated a combined operation and quiz program slated for possible TV use with contestant Jack Hyepock.
