Whitewright welcomes Reagan Brown as new Texas agriculture commissioner
Reagan Brown returns to Whitewright as he assumes the office of Texas Commissioner of Agriculture. A familiar figure in North Texas, he has spoken here before as a rural sociologist and as an assistant to Gov. Dolph Briscoe. The Whitewright Chamber hosts him Wednesday night as he steps into the role.

Whitewright City Hall Bid Call Issued
The Whitewright city council called for bids on the new city hall and civic center complex after a special meeting with Heyter Engineering representatives. Bids will be opened Thursday May 19 at 7 p.m. The project, supported by a 493000 plus EDA grant, will include fire and police quarters, city offices, a library, and an auditorium for about 300, on the old city hall site.
