Demo Precinct Conventions Set for Grayson County

Grayson County Democratic chairman R C Slagle Jr announces precinct conventions will be at 2 p m on May 7 at regular voting places. County convention set for May 14 in the 15th District courtroom. Candidates must file first expenditures seven days before the first primary. Attendees must show stamped poll tax receipts marked Democrat or Republican for participation.

Deaths Mrs Walter House 81 Funeral in Grants Chapel

Mrs. Walter House 81 died 6 15 p m Monday at her son's home G A House in Whitewright after a long illness. Funeral services were held Wednesday in Grants Chapel Arkansas with burial in Grants Chapel Cemetery. She was born July 25 1878, married Walter House in 1898 in Bonnerdale Arkansas and was a Free Holiness Church member. Survivors include three sons G A House W W House and W C House, three sisters and three brothers, seven grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Funeral for Jesse Thomas Wrenn Held at Savoy Methodist Church

Funeral services are held today for Jesse Thomas Wrenn 87 at Savoy Methodist Church. He died Wednesday at a Savoy rest home after a three year illness. Born December 6, 1872, he farmed near Whitewright before retirement and married Maude DeBerry in 1898. Survivors include three sons Coy and Marvin Wrenn and T L Wrenn, three sisters and four grandchildren.

Whitewright Boys Enter Junior Olympics April 23

Harry Lander will take 35 or 40 boys to Bonham on Saturday April 23 to compete in the Junior Olympics meet sponsored by the Bonham Kiwanis Club. Three divisions will be entered: Class A ages 14 and 15, Class B ages 12 and 13, Class C age 11 and under. Contestants are from grades 5 through 10. James England and Dan Hennig will compete in the regional meet at Denton, with winners advancing to the Texas State meet in Austin May 5 and 6.
