Last year the under thirteen team played in Trenton due to no lights. If Bells gets a field, Whitewright should, too. Any extra funds will buy seats.

Death of Noel Grammer Shocks Bonham Community
Funeral services for Noel J. Grammer, 52, were set for 3 p m Friday at Wise Funeral Home in Bonham. He was found shot to death Wednesday afternoon on a road near Coffee Mill Lake. Burial would be in Telephone Cemetery. Grammer, who had recently moved from Arkansas to a Telephone County farm, previously managed Coffee Mill Lake before relocating to Arkansas. Born November 7, 1907, he was the son of the late L H Grammer and grew up in Whitewright. Surviving are his wife Thelma Phillips, a son Jack Grammer of Tivoli, his mother Mrs. L H Grammer of Whitewright, two brothers Bill Grammer of Dallas and Vivian Tib Grammer of Van Alstyne, and two grandchildren.

Death of John Wiley Haws in Texas Farm Family Ties
John Wiley Haws 54 of route 1 Ropesville died of a heart attack Monday of last week at his home 20 miles southwest of Lubbock. Funeral services were held at Wolforth Methodist Church with burial in Resthaven Memorial Park near Lubbock. Born in Grayson County in 1905 he married Mabel Keeling in 1930 and moved to Lubbock County in 1984 becoming a successful farmer and land owner. Survivors include his wife a son Billy John at home a daughter Otis Echols Jr of Clovis New Mexico two brothers Fred of San Antonio and Seth of Nashville Tennessee and two sisters T K McCann of Winchester Virginia and Jack Biggerstaff of Amarillo.

The Cole Circus visits Whitewright for a one day performance sponsored by the American Legion. The fifty year old circus arrives Friday April 22 with over one hundred animals and forty staff. Crews begin erecting tents at 7:00 a.m. and public viewing of animal cages runs 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. Tickets for noon and evening shows are on sale by American Legion members.
