Charle Ayres celebrates a quarter century since opening T. W. Ayres & Son dry goods in Whitewright and Trenton. He arrived from Trenton as a youth, built the family business, and now runs both Whitewright and Trenton outlets.
Arthur J. Lacy 61 of Maddil Oklahoma filed lawsuits in Marshall County against Soldier Creek Resort on Lake Texoma and owners Alan and Arlie Whatley seeking 254700 in damages for injuries from a fall on a fishing pier. He asks 226000 for lifetime lost income based on 14 more years of life at 15600 annually plus 1500 for past medical expenses 2000 for future medical costs and 25000 for pain and suffering alleging unsafe icy unlit walkway and resort negligence. He says he broke his left thigh bone injured his left heel bruises contusions and nervous system injury predicting lifelong disability.

Funeral services for Luther Gordon 69 were held at 2 30 p m Sunday at Barnheart Funeral Chapel. He died Friday in a Sherman hospital. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery. Surviving wife three sisters a brother and many relatives. Gordon was born September 23 1888 in the Desert community near Whitewright and was long associated with the local grocery business. He was a charter member of the Whitewright Rotary an active Mason and church elder. He married Pearl Patterson in 1915.
Funeral services were held Sunday in Sherman for Mrs. Maude Marsh Fain 77 who died Saturday after a brief illness. Burial was at Oak Hill Cemetery. Born December 23 1880 at Bells she was the daughter of the late Cary and Mrs Marsh. She married Joshua Nicholas Fain July 14 1900 at Whitewright and lived in the area. Survivors include son Manton N. Fain Dallas area daughters Ivy Blair Fort Worth Fran Reece Pass Christian Miss Opalzell McMath McKinney sister Bess Howard Dallas Myrtle Fain Dallas brother Ernest Marsh Dallas 11 grandchildren 13 great grandchildren.
Lee Bolden 87 well known Negro of White Rock community was buried at White Rock last Thursday following a death after an operation at a Sherman hospital on the preceding Saturday. He had been living with a Sherman relative in recent months.
Sen. Monroney of Oklahoma announces broad support for a bill to reveal true car costs. The plan, as head of a Senate subcommittee, calls for plant labeling of the vehicle price, transport, freight, and accessory charges with public hearings beginning April 21.
