Pioneer Whitewright Citizen Died Saturday
David H. Martindale 79, longtime Whitewright resident and carpenter, died Saturday night at his daughter Mrs Wade Sears home five miles north of town after a brief illness. Born October 12 1848 in Cedar County Missouri he moved to Texas about 60 years ago settling near Howe and later Whitewright. Survived by wife and daughter five stepsons and many relatives in Missouri and Indiana. Funeral at Central Christian Church Sunday at 3 30 p m with Rev A E Major and Rev J T Purvis officiating. interment Oak Hill Cemetery.

Fire at Sunshine Hatchery Kills 6000 Chicks
A blaze at Sunshine Hatchery in Longview Tuesday night caused about 5000 worth of damage and killed more than 6000 baby chicks. Two large incubators holding about 2200 eggs were also damaged. Milk plant gains drive daily supply toward twenty thousand pounds
