Mary Haines Sanders born April 4 1808 Greensburg died January 25 1900 Westville Ind age 91 years 9 months 21 days. She married James S. Sanders April 29 1829 lived in Richland County Ohio before moving to Indiana and Lake County then Westville. Survived by nine children and many grandchildren, active Lutheran then Methodist Episcopal church member. Funeral services held at Culbertson home and Door Village church with multiple relatives in attendance. Interment Door Village cemetery.
William M Webber born April 8 1857 in Westville moved to Battle Creek Michigan about eleven years ago. He married Eliza J Howell April 8 1889 they had two children Hal H and Kathryn. He was killed January 27 1900 in Edwardsburg Michigan when the engine he conducted exploded after delivering orders. He was 42 years nine months and 19 days old. The funeral was held from his brother in laws residence with Rev C A Stockbarger officiating. The local Maccabees assisted with rites and the burial took place at Westville cemetery.
The obituary addendum recounts Jesse McCord and wife of 67 years with ten children and numerous descendants. It lists children born 1834 to 1852, noting deaths, marriages to Burdick, Dallas County Iowa, and West Virginia connections. It mentions brothers Elias and Arthur, sister Elizabeth L Green, and that McCord leaves one son, three daughters, sixteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, two brothers, and one sister. The notice ends with a comforting poem about no death.
A rare entertainment by harpist Miss M Alva Messenger, reader Miss Mary Maud Barnes, and vocalist Miss Blanche Navarre arrives February 9 at Cattron Hall. Messenger, famed harpist with a $1000 double action instrument, will headline alongside Barnes in dramatic readings and Navarre in ballads. admission is 5 for adults with discounts to 2 0 and 1 60.
Advertises that deafness cannot be cured by local applications and claims nine of ten cases stem from catarrh. Promises one hundred dollars for any case cured, promotes Hall's Catarrh Cure, directed by F J Cuexer & Co of Toledo Ohio, sold by druggists for 75 cents.
Local shop Davidson and Porter advertises a sale on laces and embroideries beginning Saturday January 27, promising unusually low prices and broad selection for shoppers.
County correspondence from Cloma and Whiting reports illness and death of Mrs G F Brayton aged 75 with funeral Thursday at Door Village M E church. Other items note Farmers Institute attendance, illnesses, accidents, and local reflections on world events and local commerce updates.
Emma Molloy Barrett writes from Cottage Grove Oregon on January 20 1900 expressing sorrow and recounting memories of Dr and Mrs Fravel in Indiana. The item mentions Dewey the Kid and several Laporte area people including Mrs Wm Garwood Mertie Garwood Marguerite Forrester and Roy Mc Kellips with small town social notes and a political aside about a Home Protection ticket incident.

Wm N Osborn visited Ft Wayne for a Penn RB supervisor interview.
Henrietta lawyer Stood Death OM and B Munday recounts how his brother, long ill with malaria and jaundice, recovered after using Electric Bitters. He credits the remedy with expelling malaria, purifying blood, aiding digestion, and curing various ailments. Available for 50 cents at E T Scotts drug store.
One of the men shot during the incident while playing in Arizona a few weeks ago died Sunday in Wichita Kansas. The Associated Press notes the company linked to Arthur Lay has dissolved.
A fearful bland statement touts Bucklen's Arnica Salve as the cure for a painful burn scald cut or bruise. It claims to kill pain and quickly heal fever sores ulcers boils corns and skin eruptions. Advertising copy notes best pile cure on earth and a 25 cent price with a cure guaranteed sold by all druggists.
The children of the late Mrs. Mary Sanders express appreciation for the noble help of friends and neighbors in their bereavement. All kind hearts and ready hands offered and accomplished much. MR. AND MRS. A. S. COLBERTSON.

Severe weather kept attendance light at the Junior League program at the M. E. church Friday evening. Those present enjoyed a varied program including solos, a doll drill, a May Pole, and instrumental pieces, with a note that the league will repeat the program soon for those unable to attend.
