Fair Association Meeting in Trego County
The Trego County Fair Association held its annual stockholders and directors meeting at the courthouse on Wednesday December 8. President M W Mason led the 11 o'clock session with ten directors present and a stockholders meeting in the afternoon representing 260 shares. The bank note was cut to 1400 and 921 from pledge accounts was authorized to cover general expenses to September 1921. The 1920 fair reported receipts and expenses of 4592 26. New officers were elected with LH Galloway as president and G G Blakely as vice president. The association’s debt has been reduced from about six thousand dollars to a current 1400 with unpaid pledges of 2400 and a cash balance of about 1000 available for 1921.

New School Building Bond Election Receives Strong Support
WaKeeney school district No 1 voters approved a 60000 bond to replace the aging building with broad support from 234 yes to 26 no in a Tuesday election. The board chose a site on the current grounds and expects cheaper materials and more labor by spring to speed construction.

Court Convenes Next Monday In Trego County
The December term of district court for Trego County opens Monday in the court room. Jurors need not appear until Tuesday morning. Four criminal cases on the calendar include three IWW-related jail breaking charges and one liquor case. Two IWW defendants, bound over last term, face jail breaking trials. a third not linked to the escape. The IWW defendants have strained county costs since last July. Many civil cases remain unresolved after over a year.

Obituary: John Timothy Rhoades of WaKeeney Kansas
John Timothy Rhoades born May 23 1872 in Cayuga County New York died December 9 1920 at his home near WaKeeney Kansas aged 48 years six months and ten days He moved to Trego County with his parents in 1886 married Roxie McAfee on June 24 1903 and they lived on a farm northeast of WaKeeney Ten children were born nine surviving He also leaves his mother four brothers and three sisters He joined the Baptist church early and for eighteen years led the WaKeeney Sabbath school as superintendent A farmer by trade he served as treasurer of Wakeeney township Funeral services were held last Friday at the Baptist church and burial followed in WaKeeney Floral tributes reflected the esteem of friends.

The last night of a Hillside revival was held at the Hillside school house. Rev. F. A. Heizer and Rev. C. M. Mills conducted the meeting. WaKeeney session welcomed four adults into the church with three more declaring intent. Sunday School draws 30 to 50 weekly. A Christmas Song Service at 7:30 features an address by the pastor on Is your Christmas Christan and a morning sermon titled The Second Payment on the Price of Power.
