Obituary of Anna B Bright in Wakeeney Kansas

Anna Bell Walton born Louisville Kentucky October 22 1881 died Wakeeney Kansas December 21 1920 aged 39 years one month and twenty one days. She came with her parents to Wakeeney 1885 later moved to Denver Colorado married James Ollie Bright of Mobile Missouri. She suffered illness since July 1917 professed faith last August and passed December 21 after arriving in Wakeeney two weeks earlier. Funeral 2 pm from S J Straws buried in Wakeeney Cemetery.

Appointment of Major Judge Advocate General officer

Judge J C Ruppenthal is appointed Major Judge Advocate General of the Officers Reserve Crops effective November 24 of this year. He previously served in the same role in 1918 1919 for fourteen months. The WaKeeney State Bank annual stockholders meeting in WaKeeney Kansas will be held January 7 1921 at 10 am. Kansas schools seek dormitories for women students

Five state universities in Kansas push for on campus dormitories for female students to relieve housing shortages in Lawrence Manhattan Emporia Pittsburg and Hays. Backed by the Kansas Council of Women and other groups the plan calls for state funded bonds and rental income to cover maintenance costs. Separately a federal injunction becoming permanent bars interference with interstate hog trade after a quarantine tied to moved vaccination facilities from Kansas to Missouri.

Children of Sorrow appeal for Near East relief aid

The Children of Sorrow appeal to Kansans for Christmas donations to Near East Relief to aid Armenian Greek Syrians and Jews displaced by Turkish atrocities.
