Obituary for Mrs Harriet Street in classic regional obituary
On August 6, 1921 Mrs Harriet Street wife of C W F Street died at Long Beach California from heart trouble caused by arteriosclerosis. She was among early settlers of Trego county and Wakeeney. She and husband lived in Parsons Kansas Fullerton California and finally Anaheim California. She leaves five children seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Funeral in Fullerton burial in Anaheim. The World extends sympathy to the bereaved.

Camp meeting moves to Ransom after long Trego run
The 1921 Central Kansas Holiness camp meeting closed at the WeKeeney fairgrounds with strong attendance, especially from out of town. After years at Wa Keeney, a committee resolved to thank the Trego County Fair Association for five years of free fairground use and to hold future camp meetings in Ransom.

Fire chief outlines a whistle system at the power plant to locate fires by district. A long siren followed by one two or three short whistles designates city areas south of the railroad, north of the track west of Franklin Street, or north of the track east of Franklin Street. Oil in Trego County near Collyer reported strong find
Excitement grows over Walsh well No. 1 north of Collyer after oil sand was struck August 13. Work resumed after a week away as oil rose to the water line, owner W. M. McKnab notified and arrived. With hundreds of feet of water in the bore there is about three hundred feet of oil. testing will await water shutoff and casing work. Trego County seen as a proven oil field.

Walker Family Reunion At Estes Park And Loveland
A Walker family reunion in Estes Park on August 11 gathered six of nine siblings with relatives. Attendees included Belle Verbeck Nellie Huleatt Mary Connelly Elmer Huleatt H K Walker F B Walker Margaret W Bailey W B Walker and Aggie Laflin and others. Three pairs of twins appeared among the relatives. A second gathering occurred August 14 with morning church services and a meal at Lovelander hotel, after which some members planned eastward travel.
