Mystery Castle Rock story prompts reader guide

A local column explores the so called mystery of Castle Rock near Castile, Kansas. It outlines land ownership around the bluff and nearby claims, notes tenant farmers and residents, and discusses conflicts with sightseers who trespass, enter houses, or open gates on pasture land. The piece argues a calm approach while acknowledging the owner Charles Doescher’s right to remove trespassers and protect property.
