In Texas a new Click It or Ticket safety campaign runs May 20 to June 2 to boost seat belt use and cut deaths. Lindsay Canright credits her life to wearing a belt after a summer crash, as officials cite potential savings and injuries prevented with higher belt usage. The effort, backed by TxDOT and DPS, targets drivers and passengers with fines from 25 to 200 dollars and features state-wide ads and enforcement.

Robbie Lee Salter Williams Mays died May 26 2002 in Dallas at age 87. Interment May 30 2002 at 12 pm with a memorial service at 2 pm at Kessler Park United Methodist Church Dallas. She was born November 15 1914 in Greenville and educated at Baylor SMU and NTSU. She taught in Wellington Irvin and Dallas and was a pioneer Dallas ISD principal from 1956 to 1977 at Dan D Rogers John J Pershing and Arthur Kramer schools. She was active in PTA and education groups, secretary to Baylor President Pat Neff, artist for Neiman Marcus and Olsen Stelzer Boot Co, member of Pi Beta Phi and Delta Kappa Gamma. Survivors include son John R Williams daughter Joyce McClellan and others totals. Memorials suggested to American Red Cross or Kessler Park United Methodist Church.
