Mrs Gibbs Glenn Dies Suddenly in June at Wellington
Mrs Gibbs Glenn a prominent county farming family member died Thursday afternoon June 1 at St Josephs Hospital after entering previous day. She was born December 19 1885 in Springfield Missouri and married to Mr Glenn on November 8 1908 in Clarendon. Funeral services were held at First Methodist Church. Burial in West Wellington Cemetery. Survived by four daughters two sons and numerous grandchildren great grandchildren.

Wellington State Guard Unit Held Inspection
The Wellington State Guard, a Texas State Guard unit, was inspected on a Tuesday in May by Col I Kawaster from the Adjutant General’s office. Capt Jimmy Cochran said the inactive unit will be tested, aims to recruit, and consists mainly of World War II veterans. The group, not subject to active duty, would assume state equipment if needed and emergency powers. Current members include Capt Cochran, City Council members, Sheriff John Rainey, and Police Chief Donald Nunnelley.

The Dodson American Legion Post installed officers for 1967-68 Tuesday evening in the Dodson park. Claude’s Ba Brady, 18th District viet commander, officiated the ceremony. The slate included Dennis Holland as commander and J. D. Luck as vice commander along with Tucker adjutant Hightower chaplain Truett Holland and Boos Martin sergeant at arms. This marks the third year of service for the officers. A hot dog and chili supper accompanied the event.

Wellington High School introduces Thayne Amonett as its new head football coach. The Texas High School Coaches Association will honor him at the San Antonio meeting from July 30 to August 3. He plans to move with his family to Wellington after June 15 and by June 30 at the latest.

Wellington Woman Reunites with Family After 41 Years
Mrs. J. W. Emmert, once separated from her parents and siblings as a child, traveled from Wellington to New York with her daughter Lena to meet sister and brother she had never seen. She and relatives stayed with extended family, learned of a brother in Callingsworth County, and exchanged memories of their early life. The journey included visits to West Bloomfield and reunions with relatives in Seneca Castle and Cundango.
