The Dodson Church of the Nazarene held Miracle Day to raise funds for a new fellowship hall, replacing the older structure. Pastor Rev. Al Mixon announced the special offering aimed at supporting the church expansion.
Texas high school juniors gather on the University of Texas campus starting June 7 for the forty sixth American Legion Boys State session. Mike Myrick of Wellington attends, sponsored by Frank King Post and Wellington Kiwanis Club, with 963 delegates housed in 22 cities. The event teaches citizen duties through mock government and campaigns, ending with a state government day at the Capitol.
Four Collingsworth students were among 810 West Texas State University students named to the Dean's List for Spring 1986. Joan A. Cochran 4.00 Mary K. Davis 3.667 Kenneth J. Warren 3.400 from Wellington and Lisa K. Cochran 3.786 from Dodson earned the honor.
