The Wellington Leader is published every Thursday by the Wellington Leader Company at 913 West Avenue Wellington Texas 79095. A weekly schedule lists holiday breaks on Monday Sept 4 and September 5. From Tuesday to Friday, meals feature sausage with lima beans and sides on Sept 5, German sausage and sauerkraut on Sept 6, Mexican casserole on Sept 7, and chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes on Sept 8, with fruits, bread, oleo, and milk included.
Continued from page 1 details a Saturday event at Ellison Park featuring food games craft booths a tractor and car show a chili cookoff and salsa contest from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on September 9. The Collingsworth County Museum Board thanked citizens and officials for high turnout at the Captain Randolph B. Marcy exploration route marker dedication. Alvin Lynn spoke on Marcy's panhandle significance, while Fred Squyres and Loretta Wright unveiled the inscription.
We the Care Center staff and residents welcome Katie Mae Hammons in room C12 and invite family visits. Sympathy extended to the Powell family on the loss of Leon Powell. Week featured Rhythm Band singing, bingo, cooking class, sing along, bible study, dominoes, films, Bingo and church events with numerous residents and volunteers listed.
