Published every Thursday by the Wellington Leader Company in Wellington Texas with periodicals postage paid entered August 25 1909 at the Wellington TX post office.
Meal plan lists daily menus from Tue Aug 28 to Fri Sep 01 including fish or spaghetti options. Dishes feature corn meal, salad, vegetables, fruit, garlic bread and milk with oleo as standard sides. The flyer outlines entrees such as fish with potato salad on Aug 28 and liver on Aug 30.
Cassidy Davis and others received plaques for completing projects, with members earning plates for one to eight completed projects. Special livestock, equine, and achievement awards went to Matt Bell, Keedon Smith, Koby Long, and Kristen Odom among others. Distinguished Leader Don and Hattie Sanderson honored, Friend of 4-H Mark Fourmentin praised, and senior awards presented to Shay Morris and Nick Odom.
Care Center notes from Monday August 14 to Sunday August 21 detail residents and staff at daily events. Rhythm Band bingo sing along Bible study dominoes and movie sessions feature residents such as Delma Jesse Nena Oldham James Brown Vera Bishop Sue Parker Delia Solis and Osa Lee. Visitors include Nora Mae Buskie Mary Beth Lynch and Barbara Reynolds.
Special awards were presented in the afternoon to Don Reeves Dale Dunlap and Andy Hefley to commemorate the Centennial celebration of the County Extension Agent. Former 4-H members Mark Foumentin Ty Hartman and Keedon Smith paid tribute to the agents they served under. Program Assistant Blacksher handed each agent an appreciation certificate. The Collingsworth 4-H Club thanked Dark Green and Farm Bureau for sponsoring the awards at the banquet.
