Wellington school board weighs four cent tax increase
Wellington leaders at the Aug. 13 meeting approved a $3,269,339 budget and eyed raising the district tax rate from 99 cents to 1.03 per $100 valuation to avoid an estimated $111,000 loss in state funding for 1991. A public hearing is set for Aug. 16 at 8 p.m. to discuss the proposal. The board accepted Holton oil bids, approved milk bids, policy updates, and student handbooks, and noted HVAC work at the elementary school nearing completion.
