Support group aids those with illnesses
Collingsworth General Hospital Auxiliary sponsors a community support group for those ill or with ill family members. First meeting Thursday August 23 at 7 p.m. in the Heritage Room. Loretta Wright emphasizes sharing experiences to help friends, families, and others facing cancer, arthritis, heart disease, diabetes, MS, strokes, Alzheimer’s, Parkinsons, and sensory issues. Congressman Sarpalius will visit Wellington on Tuesday, August 14. He arrives at 3 p.m. and stays until 4 p.m. for a meet-and-greet with business people along US 83, then holds a 4 to 4:30 p.m. town hall in the courthouse. After 4:30 p.m. special interest groups will meet, covering hospitals, agriculture, minorities, education, water, and small business. No fundraiser planned.
