Primary Day in Weiser Brims With Races Across Precincts

Voters flocked to three Weiser precincts on a warm primary day as Republicans outvoted Democrats. Norman Jackson secured the nomination for auditor with full GOP delegate strength to the Council convention. Delegates elected include J W Hubbard and Norman Jackson in East Weiser, and Wm Fox among others, while Democrats named their own slate headed by P P Dawson and J L Jeffreys for the council.

Uncle Tom's Cabin at Weiser Opera House draws crowd after 30 years

Old Timer Uncle Tom Pollock Dies at Nearly Eighty

Meadows Eagle Uncle Tom Pollock, a longtime Idaho pioneer known as Uncle Tom, died Sunday night from heart failure and age related illnesses. He settled at the place bearing his name about 32 years ago and was about 80 years old. He was arriving from Grangeville when the death was discovered Monday morning at breakfast.

Payette Man Stabbed in Saloon Incident

Payette man Shaw was stabbed by Jacoby at his Payette saloon late Sunday night after a disturbance. The knife wound was several inches long behind the left ear. The incident occurred while Jacoby was ejecting Shaw from the saloon. An exhibition at Summercamp’s noted Misses’ wear.

FINE IMPROVEMENT PROJECTED BY FATHERS

The city council held eight meetings Friday night to consider grading and graveling Main Street from the fire bell tower to the Weiser river wagon bridge, a 6000 foot route. The plan calls for 60 feet wide grading with 20 feet gravel in the center, funded by property holders at 25 cents per foot. notices will be issued to allow remonstrance, though no dissent is expected.

Gory shooting at Goff ends in fatal wound

The Goff shooting involved Church and Kasper over mining funds and a water ditch. After a quarrel in White Bird they wrestled. Kasper fired, hitting Church in the hip knee and chest. Church died that night. Coroner Nickel moved to hold an inquest. Kasper, aged about 55, was brought from Goff for preliminary hearing. date not set.

Willows Creek district mining boom draws Dewey deal talks

Willow Creek district near Weiser Oregon sees rising riches from gold veins near the Sunset group. Burlingame of Denver tests Zena Lois ore with assays from $700 to $1,500 and an average of $781. A proposed $300,000 Dewey deal failed after a 40 day trial plan. Emory Cole joins, William Perry of Payette enters, and 15 to 18 miners begin work with Joe W. Misher as general manager.
