Nickels Rain On Court House Square At Dalles
About two thousand people witnessed four hundred children scramble for a hundred dollars in nickels on the court house square. The event stemmed from an earlier Polk County plan by Hon. W. C. Brown to distribute two thousand five cent pieces to area children, prompting a frenzied scramble as coins were tossed in four age groups amid surrounding excitement. Also noted are local business changes and dental office hours.
