Amid a night of terror, anti British extremist actors deployed over 40 hazardous devices across Hong Kong Island Kowloon and nearby areas fatally wounding two and injuring 33 including four children. Police were targeted during investigations as authorities offer reward for killers and Italy experts defuse a device.
Three vehicle crashes were investigated by Dover police. Ralph R. Sherer, 68, of 464 Church Ave SW New Philadelphia, failed to yield at Crater Ave and E 4th St, causing a chain reaction with Joseph W. Miller, 16, of 219 Lincoln Ave, and James P. Hanks, 16, RD 3 Dover. Miller’s car skidded 20 feet. Sherer was cited. A separate incident on 16th Street involved Paul E. B. Alexander, 36, delaying for reckless operation, rear ending a parked Grace P. Bair car, which then struck Ann Weible. Minor damages on all three. Lanny Walker, 18, RD 1 Gnadenhutten, hit Helen M. Watson’s car in Miracle Lane Plaza. damage minor.
Two vacancies arise in The Daily Reporter New York Theatre Tour after a cancellation due to illness. The program, on Nov 25 with Mansfield News Journal, costs 110 dollars per person double occupancy. Frank Dupler and Donald Webb, both charged after a fight near Webb's Dover area home, received $58.20 fines each in Dover mayor's court after spending the night in the city jail. Robert Smith, 43, of Charleston, W Va, was fined $16.20 for profane language but had the punishment suspended on condition he leave town for a year.
A fact finding commission arrived in La Paz to study Ernesto Che Guevara's death. Officials requested the dead man's diary and fingerprints and discussed a possible finger that authorities say may have been removed, per President Rene Barrientos.

Sheriff deputies reported a minor incident at the Route 250-2 picket post where a pickup truck owned by All J. Weigand Trucking Inc. had its rear tires punctured. The damage occurred around 4:15 a.m. while the driver was returning from a service call in Worcester and stopped briefly for coffee.
Air Force Sgt. Paul C. Hillis of Wintersville is named recruiter for nurses and women officers in Tuscarawas County. Based in Steubenville, he will assist Sgt. Jim Stump in counseling testing and interviewing applicants. Hillis, a 13 year veteran and former air policeman, notes global aerospace nurse corps staffing and civilian volunteer commissions in nursing therapy and dietetics. Work continues from page one as money funds repair of the church, school, and Zeisberger residence without demolition. Plans include one to two cabins to demonstrate 19th century construction methods. Replacements will reflect new Moravian archives information, with rapid cabin deterioration driving renovations chiefly to bottom walls. Zoar project progress is just beginning.
The Union fund drive now totals 7 million with a mental health facility for a six county area among items. Of 1,489,741 pledged, 878,259 has been received leaving 611,462 due. Union Hospital also got 500,000 federal Appalachia grant, 890,000 Hill Burton funds, and 750,000 for the mental health center. An 800,000 capital fund requires about 244 million in borrowing to complete the project.

US Marines endured a brutal three hour battle a mile south of Con Thien after a 130 round mortar barrage. 21 Marines were killed and 20 wounded evacuated by helicopter as pilots flew 154 missions in a northern air war targeting Ha Noi Haiphong defense zones. In Saigon area, Viet Cong shelling and raids killed one soldier and wounded several others while US forces killed nine Viet Cong nearby.
President elect Nguyen Van Thieu said he will make his peace bid to Ho Chi Minh in mid November, two weeks after taking office October 30. He vowed to defend Vietnam if North Vietnam persists in aggression, and outlined a letter to Hanoi planned for delivery after inauguration.

In San Antonio two men forced a live turtle to smash a liquor firm's display window to aid their crime. Police arrested the two men after a passing highway patrolman alerted them. the turtle was uninjured and released.
The search for 22 crew members of the freighter Panoceanic Faith ended at nightfall Friday. The ship sank in the North Pacific Monday, 870 miles southwest of Kodiak, Alaska. Two life rafts dropped by aircraft were not located, ending any hope of survivors.

Mrs Bertha Wise 82 of 1002 Mapleay NW New Philadelphia died after a month long illness at Union Hospital. Born near New Cumberland she was the daughter of the late Henry and Nancy Wisler Davy. She lived in New Philadelphia the last 63 years and belonged to Sacred Heart Church and LCBA. Survived by son Harry at home three daughters Mary Barr of Winfield Margaret Williams of Zoarville Elizabeth Antonelli of Dover eight grandchildren eleven great grandchildren. Her husband Daniel and two daughters preceded her in death. Workmen cut down a large oak tree and knocked down a concrete driveway wall to move an old double deck bus that had remained parked behind a dwelling for 27 years. The bus, once retired, became a children's playhouse and will be restored by Magic Castle, a magicians club in Los Angeles.
