The M. E. Ladies' Aid Society gathered Thursday at Mrs. Phoebe Wert's home with devotionals by Mrs. Alvin Cone and remarks by president Mrs. Shultz. Members were few due to sickness. refreshments were served and plans for future work discussed. Next meeting moves to Friday January 2 at Mrs. William Atkinson's home due to New Year’s Day.

Waynetown High School hosts a successful County Fair in the building drawing a large crowd. Attractions included cats, fortune telling, and a "truth tellers" show with a popular "Nigger Baby" rack. New River Bridge at Attica to Replace Old Covered Structure
Fountain County plans a new concrete bridge across the Wabash at Attica replacing the old 986 foot wooden span. Six concrete spans with 30 foot width and 20 foot roadway and 5 foot walk on each side, abutments 30 and 45 feet thick, six feet higher than the old bridge. Cost estimated at 282741 dollars funded by the Fountain County Commissioners. The project follows Indiana Highway Commission terms to route state highway from north across the river at Attica to Veedersburg and toward Turkey Run, leveraging 31 miles of county road improvements with state maintenance.

On Wednesday the Big Four cut No. 2 eastbound and No. 3 westbound passenger service, 8:40 a.m. arrival and 5:40 p.m. departure, under a coal conservation drive amid a six week miners strike. Next Sunday marks Go to Sunday School Sunday as three town churches unite to pull in at least five hundred regular attendees. Each church will bring at least one first time visitor with no prior Sunday school attendance. The drive targets two hundred attendees per school. Local workers lead the effort. W L Combs and S P Brown traveled to Danville Illinois on business. Combs then went to Hoopeston while Brown returned home. Mr and Mrs F M McClure of Lafayette visited over the weekend and plan to depart on the 19th for Los Angeles California to spend winter with Mrs McClure’s sister Elizabeth Bittle.
