Fire swept the H P Sigler grain elevator at Rittman Sunday morning between 2 and 3 o clock, total loss about 6000 dollars with small insurance. Origin unknown but believed caused by sparks from a passing locomotive. Rittman lacking a fire department, the blaze spread near by buildings before being brought under control.

Accident at University and changes in Prohibition meetings

An accident at the university left three plasterers employed by John Winters injured when scaffolding broke, with Lambert Sellers most seriously hurt. Other items mention the Prohibition Alliance No 4 meeting moved to October 24 at Jefferson School House and a series of probate court proceedings with multiple estates filing accounts, bonds set, and hearings scheduled for November 7.

Eaton Han Arrested For Theft In Mt Eaton

Edward Sayers of Mt. Eaton faced arrest after stealing a burlap bag of onions and six eggs from W H Smedley of Paint two. He pled guilty and was sentenced to thirty days in jail at Mt. Eaton. Sawers, fined previously for petty larceny, was jailed after alleged wheat theft.
