A Musical Festival at Smithville Opera House

The Smithville chorus under Miss Ida Hough gave two strong concerts at the City Opera House last Thursday and Friday, with foreign talent and a program of solos, part songs, and choruses. The mass Farmer’s Mass in Bb was well rendered on the second night, though some balance issues in the tenor and bass parts were noted. The piece praised the chorus and Miss Hough, and lamented the lack of a city orchestra.
