Weekly Crop Bulletin for southern and central Ohio
Weather delays slowed farm work across many counties, with flooding in lowlands injuring corn and wheat while oats thin and grasses show vigor. Reports note plentiful tobacco, good grapes and fruit blossoms, army worms on apples, and a generally favorable yield outlook despite late frosts and wet soil. Northern counties suffer soggy fields, late planting, and mixed fruit prospects, with peaches a total failure and potatoes just starting to emerge. Columbus, Ohio, notes from Acting Section Director Bernona.
