A Thursday evening astronomy lecture for Seniors by Prof W H Wilson charmed the audience and the public alike. He guided listeners through constellations with clear explanations, historical bits, and tales of discovery enhancing the celestial tour.

The Ohio State Board of Agriculture met with the Experiment Station Board to align work of the State Live Stock Commission with the station's activities. Dr Paul Fisher was named state veterinary surgeon. Officials discussed poultry displays for the Ohio State Fair and a possible Dayton substation for the Agricultural Experiment Station during a multi-city itinerary to Cornell, Geneva, Guelph, Lansing, and Dayton.
Mrs Mary A Myers aged 68 died at her home on South Market Street on Monday June 9 at noon. A fall last year broke her hip and paralysis months later contributed to her death. Born in Berks County Pa she lived many years in Wooster and was highly respected. Survived by husband J B Myers a court bailiff and one daughter Mrs Charlee Balknap of Brooklyn NY who were with her at death. Funeral services were held this afternoon.
The Prohibition Alliance of Pisia will hold its regular monthly gathering at Jefferson school house on Friday June 20. A program with good music and a talk by Rev Littell has been arranged and all are invited to attend.

The auditorship race remains open as J L Zarling or I N Hougty are believed elected.

Dunlap and husband convey part of lot 47 in Orrville to David Walmer for 925 dollars. George W. Pershing sells lots 5 and 6 in Naw Pittsburg to Jacob H. Weaver for 400 dollars.
Edward Eberhart and wife convey property to D P Yates including multiple lots in New Pitts 400 Mies Pay, with stated monetary values for each parcel and additional transfers among local residents. The list shows transfers in Wooster Shreve and Rittman areas, plus two Cunningham deeds and an Oak Chapel church notice. The great musical event of commencement week is the organ recital by Mr J Lewis Browne, famed English organist visiting from Atlanta. The program offers unusual interest and variety, highlighting the organ’s soft tones. Browne is regarded as one of America's greatest organists, and the recital is highly anticipated. Tickets are fifty cents and on sale at Home News depot. The event takes place in Memorial Chapel on Tuesday evening June 17, 1902 at 8 o'clock.

Mrs Catherine Laubach aged 77 died at her daughter Mrs Fred Teacher home in South Bend Indiana on Friday June 6. Widowed of Rudolph Laubach, the remains were brought to Wooster Saturday by son George Laubach. Funeral services were held at the home of daughter Mrs John Horn on North Bever Street conducted by Rey Lowry. Survived by daughters Mrs John Horn and Mrs Fred Tescher two Wooster sons George R and James Lan bach.
Daniel Leichty of Orrville files a petition for 5000 damages against ex mayor J M Fiscus and bondsmen N C McDowell and Mrs J M Fiscus. He says Fiscus issued a warrant for arrest last June for maintaining a nuisance, was found guilty and fined 100 dollars and costs, and ordered sent to Canton work house for six months. Leichty alleges mental and physical suffering and injury to his good name after the case and seeks 5000 dollars.
The Doylestown high school commencement was held last Thursday evening, June 6, with a program including music by Mesdames Wilson and Dague and Messrs Pilkey and Wotring, Rev T J Dague delivering the invocation, William Myers delivering the salutatory, Harley Hornberger giving the oration The Laughing Nation, instrumental Nocturne by Charles M Ross, Artie V Tage presenting Our Boat is Launched but Where is the Shore, Florence E Spencer essay The Fatal Waste of Life's Springtime, Sidney Miller instrumental Bilger Spring, Bessie B Meech delivering the valedictory titled To Coward Ranks the Ballet Speeds, presentation of diplomas by E E Adair, more music by the Dague party, and Benediction by Rev T J Dague.
