Fire and town events mark quiet Wooster day
Most women were out as a fire near MP Malora’s Darn and Mr Wolgamot’s ice house partially burned the barn likely caused by a sleeper dropping a match. In town crowds gathered for the soldiers monument unveiling with speeches by Everett, Wiley, and Kieffer though opinions are unshared. The day included a festival, a woods baseball club, fireworks, and lively saloons amid temperance talk. Miss Mattie Brown of Wooster visited. Herald Office offered wedding cabinets and school closing cards at N. E. Corner Public Square.
