Barton found anthracite coal on his Plain township farm while drilling for water. Massillon capitalists are sinking a shaft on the premises. The injunction case Solicitor Ingram against the city of Wooster to restrain further water works bonds was continued in Common Pleas Court.

Mrs Elias Numbers Jr died of consumption at her home on Pittsburgh Avenue last Thursday. Deceased was a daughter of the late Frederick Brown of Apple Creek.
