Death of John Ramsey longtime Wayne County commissioner
John Ramsey aged 74 died at his Orrville home at 1 a.m. Saturday in April from pneumonia after a week illness tied to exposure while performing his duties as county commissioner. Born in Wayne County he lived here all his life, worked for years as a farmer, and served as county commissioner during his second term. Survived by wife, two sons Warren and Frank Ramsey of Orrville, and an adopted daughter Mrs George Dunlap of Jersey City, N J. Funeral services were held on Tuesday.

Charles W Christy died Sunday morning April 6 at his mother's home on N Buckeye street aged 20 after months of consumption. Born in Polk Ashland County he came to Wooster as a child with his mother Ella Christy. He joined the 8th Ohio Volunteer Infantry for the Spanish American War but was rejected for enlistment due to youth and served as an orderly to Col CV Hard in Shreve. Illness persisted after a New York hospital stay and he never fully recovered. He survived by his mother and a sister. Floral tributes filled the home and a wreath from Company D accompanied the funeral detail. a volley and taps were fired over his grave.
