Waterloo residents are believed to be among those contacted by Interstate Building Corp in a lot sale fraud probe by the state securities commission. A Waterloo woman says she bought $48 in legal expenses after a booth at the Iowa state fair urged her to claim a Cedar Rapids lot. The lot measured 25 by 100 feet with a ravine at one end, not the promised 50 by 150. She was offered $250 for it on a $600 lot elsewhere but insisted on a refund and received her money back. She suspects other Waterloos were approached similarly.
