S A Asquith traced time telling devices from sundials to watches, stressing a poised balance wheel for accuracy. The club agreed to continue red geranium work and raise 600 dollars, with Morris Bickley and Repass leading. Primary vote named top candidates for May 21 election. Waterloo's Tyre Army officers leave for three months' training after light packing and brief goodbyes. L B Laird and Howard J Rouse were detained by business. Property Owners Protest Paving of Streets in City

Protests against paving of streets in residence districts were filed at the city clerk office Saturday and will be submitted to the city council tonight. Contracts for pavement have been awarded and work is starting on several streets. Officials say protests are too late. Remonstrances were signed by 21 property owners, with a typewritten list of all protesting owners accompanying the petition.
