Des Moines March 4 Armed with search and seizure warrants the Town Anti Saloon league head, 16 deputies, six MPs and a state agent raided the Chamberlain hotel from basement to roof seeking liquor. Little liquor was found as locals packed Locust and Seventh streets to watch the operation. The lobby held hundreds of guests and visitors escaping after the raid. The liquor found was in varying stages of decrepitude.

Alleged Survey Is Declared Insane In Iowa Case
Roy L. Clark charged with murdering Mr and Mrs John T Bell on a farm northeast of Red Oak on Aug 22 1914 was declared insane by a jury and sentenced to the ward for criminal insane at Anamosa. He will be confined there until restored and then returned to Montgomery county for trial. Dr Max E Witte and four Red Oak physicians testified Clark was insane. His wife accompanied him back to the jail after sentencing.

Fire kills sleeping child near LeMars farm home
In LeMars Iowa on March 4 the two year old daughter of Mr and Mrs Chris Weiner died from burns after a fire destroyed their farmhouse ten miles south of town. The parents were at work in the yard when they saw the blaze and the mother rushed inside to save the child. The infant died at the hospital an hour later. The blaze consumed the house and other farm buildings.
