Oak, Iowa. March 2. Sheriff R Dunn Teft took George Baker to Fort Madison for a sentence of not exceeding ten years in the state prison. Baker, convicted of uttering a forged instrument, had escaped custody in December 1914 with Roy Clark, who faces trial for the Bell murder. Judge Arthur rebuked the prisoner for his life of crime. Baker forged checks drawn on Read Oak merchants.
