Moose edge Jesup as Houghton stars on the mound at Cedar River Park

In a late Sunday game at Cedar River Park the Moose edged Jesup 3 to 2 as Houghton pitched well and Manahi and Claus hit safely. Jesup’s errors and baserunning miscues helped the Moose rally, while Pagel kept Jesup hitless in stretches and Holtsclaw struck out six. The report then shifts to boxing news noting Jack Dempsey’s weight gain to around 220 pounds ahead of a Toledo title defense, with Leonard and Gibson predicting a long championship run but cautioning the peak may not be repeated.
