Liberty bonds can be listed at purchase price says Williams
Washington feb 6 national banks may list liberty bonds at the price they bought them and not the market value, Williams comptroller of the currency told bank examiners. The ruling, stated as temporary, allows banks to avoid loss when market prices fall. He noted the price drop does not reflect on value and adds Americans with large incomes will absorb all national securities, driving higher prices.

Funding of Foreign 10 Billion Loan Faces Favorable Reception
Washington Feb 2 A P House Ways and Means committee executive session indicated support for funding the 10.9 billion dollar American loans to foreign countries and deferring interest for up to three years. Committee members noted no objection but questioned legislative authority for treasury funding. The group discussed foreign exchange implications and warned further deals could hurt American export trade as they agreed foreign borrowers cannot currently pay interest in dollars and cash interest payment is unnecessary now.
