St Ansger Ta Feb 7 A deal closed this week makes F J Sedlacek the owner of 40 acres south of town formerly belonging to A O Gilbertson at 1000 per acre in a cash sale. The field, largely unimproved, has long been in cultivation with onions and other crops. Sedlacek plans to expand truck crops and convert the whole area to onions next year, adding to over 700 acres he already owns in the region. Berle Neil aged 30 resident of the Washington hotel Davenport Iowa died at 1 30 pm yesterday from ptomaine poisoning after a breakfast at a dairy lunch. He ate grapenteads with milk doughnuts and coffee then suffered severe pain and became violently ill. He had worked at the Rock Island arsenal and lived at the hotel three weeks. A letter in his effects bore the name Mrs Bages of Des Moines. Dr William Cody treated him before he died. Neil was vomiting blood and in agony.
