Iowa Colleges to Establish Military Training Units This Fall
Des Moines Aug 36 Twenty Iowa colleges will host Army training corps units this fall under the war department guidelines. Colleges with 100 plus male students will have separate units. smaller schools will offer training in combination with other institutions. Eligible students will register with draft boards around Sept 1 and may enroll in college with induction opportunity by late September or October. Student soldiers will receive 31 dollars monthly pay. The Des Moines headquarters urges Iowa colleges to meet a 4000-student quota for the program.
