Wilted Girl Will Seek Happiness In New York
In New York a 17 year old French immigrant Marcelle Viacara, widowed mother Jeanne, and brothers Gaston and Paul seek a new life after Marcelle is jilted by American soldier Ivan Fisk who marries an American widow in Pittsburgh. Marcelle faces deportation. Jewish Council workers help. Marcelle is granted entry as highly desirable future citizen and joins family headed to Washington where a French governess position awaits.
