Plan revived to make changes in Iowa tax laws
Des Moines reports a revived push to revise Iowa tax laws in the upcoming legislature. The plan includes establishing a state board to review assessments, appointing county assessors, creating a county board of review to equalize property values, and safeguarding taxpayers. Ex-senator Ed MM Smith, now on the budget appeal board, backs reform, signaling broader tax reform if the primary next spring centers on taxation.
