Rich coal vein found near Des Moines with vast leases
A new coal field near Grimes in Walnut township Dallas county is mapped within 16 miles of Des Moines. Hugh Shuler leads Maple Coal company with 10 000 acres leased and 126 test holes drilled finding a four feet eight inch vein buried 275 to 375 feet underground. The stake values reach over 1.5 million dollars and the vein extends along Walnut creek for six miles.

Kinney suit cites alleged love larceny for 25000
