Death Claims Young Cove Creek Woman
Mrs. Norman C. Waltz of the Mabell community died at a local hospital after a short illness. She was 21. Funeral services were held at her father I E Reese’s home with Rev. R C Eggers and Rev. Mr. Graham officiating. burial followed. Survivors include her mother and father and several siblings. Annie Otis Reese before 1931, she was born on Cove Creek and belonged to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. The community mourns her untimely loss.

Howard Walker of the high school agriculture department says the change accommodates those with late Saturday hours. The Friday program features minstrel shows comic acts music and full entertainment for visitors. An extensive display of farm products and needlework will be open for inspection.

Charles C. Coffey Dies At Shulls Mills Home
Charles C. Coffey 30 died at his Shulls Mills home after a long illness. Funeral services were to be held on the 26th with burial in Boone Fork Cemetery. Survived by his widow and two young children. A Cald well County native, he worked in Chevrolet factories before returning home to Watauga County three weeks ago in poor health. He was regarded as a good citizen with many friends.

Infant Son Dead in Stewart Winkler Home
Infant son of Mr and Mrs Stewart Winkler died at their home Monday morning. Funeral services were held by Rev P A Hicks from the Baptist Church and the baby was buried in the city cemetery with a bank of flowers placed by friends of the family.

Thomas resigns as deputy revenue collector in Greensboro
W Marion Thomas, ten years as deputy collector of internal revenue, resigned from his Greensboro office. Mrs. Hannah Younce Warren 81 died at her daughter Mrs. Derby Brown’s home near Zionville last Saturday from infirmities of age. Funeral services were held at Zionville Baptist Church Sunday afternoon. Survivors include two children Mrs. Brown and Frank Warren. She was widow of John Warren and longtime Baptist.

Tragic double death rocks Idaho couple from Watauga County
Charles South fatally shot his wife in Malad City Idaho and killed himself with a revolver after their divorce. The tragedy occurred last Saturday evening and will be investigated officially with trial planned in Malad City. Surviving relatives include two adult sons and siblings in Boone.
