Bear Hunting on Black Mountain Traps Two Large Bears

Dr. J. M. Hodges of Boone and a seven man party hunted Black Mountain October 26. They bagged a 200 pound bear, another bear was killed by a separate party, and Kettlefoot the legendary 600 pound brute remains at large with a cub. Businesses closed today for Armistice Day observance

Store, banks, garages and all places of business in the community are closed today in observance of Armistice Day. Notice to this effect is given elsewhere in these columns, which also authorizes the closing of business on November 25, Thanksgiving Day.
