Three Die In Weekend Wrecks In North Wilkesboro
North Wilkesboro reported three deaths and two serious injuries from weekend auto accidents. Hobard Myers 18 of Hall's Mill died Saturday night in a wreck near his home. Fred Kilby 24 died Sunday after a crash near the Call Post Office on Boone Trail Highway. Tony White and Robert Brooks were hospitalized with serious injuries. A 12 year old near Laurel Springs Albemany County was killed Saturday when struck by a five ton truck as he darted from behind another vehicle.

Chatham High Bidder in County Wool Sale
The Chatham Manufacturing Co of Elkin won the bid on about 35 000 pounds of Watauga County wool. Wool sold for 30 cents a pound, with some pieces at 32. College enrolls 716 for six week summer term at Appalachian

Funeral Held Saturday for J M Harshaw
John M Harshaw 55 died from a self inflicted gunshot during a honeymoon at the Daniel Boone Hotel in Lenoir. Funeral services were held at his home Saturday. he was district manager for Standard Oil and a prominent Watauga County citizen. He is survived by a daughter three sons and his bride of two days Effie Luddreth.
