The U S Customs Court ruled that a married woman can have a legal residence separate from her husband enabling Ganna Walska to avoid duties on French gowns from Paris while her husband stays in Lake Forest Illinois. The decision is celebrated by ultrafeminists but does not imply a decline in traditional American family life.

A Coshocton jury found William Haynes not guilty of manslaughter in the death of James Lovill from a crash near Orange on November 30. Haynes, 50, was convicted of driving while intoxicated with penalties including a fine, jail time, and potential license revocation. The trial featured a quarantine issue for witness Louis Wentz and a contested account of who caused the crash.
L L Bingham local Chevrolet dealer says nationwide reception of the new Chevrolet Six at lower prices promises record 1930 business. He attended a large Chevrolet sales meeting in Charlotte with H J Klingler and reported graphic presentations and new dealer merchandising methods. The 100 car club members in the Chevrolet zone held their annual meeting and installed officers.
A mad dog entered the Todd neighborhood a few days ago and bit a man and two of his sons. The dog was killed after its attack failed. The head was sent to the State Chemist who confirmed rabies. Local fear and concern rise among residents and the bite victims.
